Hi Hort, It may seem a bit frustrating where the "scoops" are taking place, I suppose they are feeling their way around, there must have been a fair bit of dust and soil piled up around Pheonix that was pushed out by the thrusters on landing so this may need to be cleared to dig down a bit deeper to reach the ice cap. As ever great image thanks for those.
