Well, there have been a few disappointments about 9 and 10 years ago with landers not landing as they were designed. I really had my doubts about the 2 MER's bouncing ball landing method, but it worked out very well.
The rocket assisted landing is another thing. The little video info looks quite complicated to get that Phoenix down correctly!
