The trouble is that Americans are so freedom-loving that we don’t want to assert our will on another people.

Is that for real?
What I have trouble understanding about average Americans is that they don't seem to realise that the system we currently live under concentrates wealth to a very small minority. The corporate media created belief that America is a land where 'anyone can strike it rich' or 'everyone has an equal chance' is belied by the mind boggling gap between rich and poor.
