That is a very good idea for those of us who want more detail!
Yes, I've done a couple of movies using anaglyphs. And they look fine on my computer, but unfortunately, when uploaded to youtube, they lose too much quality to have any value. I just put one up last week, but it looked so bad, I immediately removed it.
If I try again, I may try adjusting contrast on the original image to see if the 3d can survive that way because it's a really neat effect, particularly for looking at the larger terrain.
As for varying brightness to expose details, maybe I should do more of that. I have done a lot of short clips for myself to study, but have only uploaded one so far.

However, that bit, is not typical of most of the similar clips I have done with brigtness varying over the frames, as other effects are added to it as well, and it's not a particularly good demonstration of what can be done with this effect.
