I was thinking the same myself -- Why not use the whisk on the RAT, or try to deploy/fold the panels, or at least MOVE the panels favorably when winds are detected?
Using the whisk on the RAT would be extremely time consuming, and meticulous, but hey, beats having a dead rover..And the power increase would likely pay for itself.
Another thought -- I know the rovers aren't the speediest things in the world, but would there be any benefit to simply driving in tight circles and using the slight amount of centripetal force and vibration over time to slowly shake the dust off?
I'm sure the JPL crew has already looked at every number of possible solutions, but, what would be wrong with these ideas?
