A new Mars Lander mission similar to Phoenix will go to Mars in 2016 construction will begin now. It will be a longer mission and bury deep beneath the surface to study the interior and seismic activity from Mars Quakes and Meteorite strikes. InSight will also try and detect any signs of a wobble in the planet's axis to see if it has a molten core. Interestingly it will launch from Vandenberg.
