Heard of the blog developing before the Opportunity landing. MER was still in flight, and I was searching for a place to find others working on the assessments. It is so much easier when others are watching and communicating about technical matters.
Enjoy reading all your various contributions.

I've visited this blog since the beginning.
Som 10 years ago.
Now my interest is demenished since I've not enough time to read and post.
Also not enough time to look at the shots available elsewere on the net.
I can remember I've found interesting details on several images and shared them here.

I came across this Blog about a year or so after the landing prior to that I did not have that much internet access. I started posting as KPM then later on changed with a new email address.

This place has taught me a lot about Mars and everything associated with it.

Can't believe I've spent near a sixth of my life here. Also, can't believe so MANY people have NO interest in Mars at ALL. It's a wonder we get the funding that makes this all possible. Some have said the money could have fed the poor. For a couple of days maybe, and all we would have is a tiny, tiny layer of composted turds.

Some of us were just deleted for saying bad words like "running water". Obviously anyone who suggested such a thing was just a moron, or was that the site mod?

John said;; Also, can't believe so MANY people have NO interest in Mars at ALL.

I can't believe the thousands of times I have thought, just what you wrote. I don't have an answer either. Its down right tragic, for petes sake,, we are on another planet, MARS,,, and VERY VERY FEW CARE.

Sadly most people's biggest interest is themselves.

Only answer I can think of.

Since the beginning of the Spirit/Oppy missions. I remember the heady days of the "Ultraya Abyss". Who was that masked poster?

The legendary Ultreya Abyss, was a mystic black patch seen in the distant Columbia hills by Spirit, was founded by mr ustrax. NASA called this place later "Eldorado" in honor to ustrax well deserved effort. Oh those days...
