I found this Blu-ray on Amazon called Tour of Mars 3D that has images taken of Mars from Curiosity, Spirit, Pathfinder, Opportunity, and Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter in 3D. I was thinking of buying it but I wanted to see if anyone else has seen it or has any thoughts or comments about it before I buy it.

The one Customer review on Amazon loved the DVD. It is a 3D movie with pans and zooms of still images - not a collection of 3D stills.

I would be very interested in how the framing problem is solved in deep zooms.

One of the technical factors that has stopped me in trying my hand at a 3D DVD of my Mars images is this problem.

If you do buy the title, please post a review here.

Thank you for your response. I can't seem to find any other reviews of this except the one on Amazon. Maybe it's too new and not many people are talking about it yet. I think I might just give in and buy one. I'm also curious to see how it's done. I'll let you know what I think when I get it

So I got it a few days ago and have watched it a few times and I'm actually pretty impressed. The shots are very cool. You really do feel like you could reach out and touch stuff. Not sure if this is the "framing problem" you were talking about but in certain shots there are moments here and there were things look weird, like your eyes need to adjust or something but it's maybe 2% of the time besides that the zooms are very smooth and watchable. All and all I'm glad I picked it up, it's cool.

I really enjoy this Tour of Mars video. I bought it because the title interested me and I was not disappointed. The planet terrain is very different than I had imagined and the close up shots of moving into lava tubes and other things is absolutely awesome.

What I enjoyed the most is the sound track that accompanies it because it is very tranquil and relaxing. I watch this video on days when I feel stressed out and I sometimes enjoy a glass of wine with it. I find it very soothing and mind opening. I feel it helps me rejuvenate my creativity because I have relaxed intellectually and spiritually.
