Seems there have been many short term interruptions at the NASA and other sites the past few years, so, this lack of completed release images on the pages is appearing a 'new' normal but unexplained occurance.
I 'cleaned' this laptop today, and spent two hours getting back online again. Similar technical issues or coding, possibly.
They seem to be overlooking the same 'shell' type spheroids, and grid patterned recesses in the available seven MI's on the page amoung the shattered parts and 'overlapping' image portions(spheroid bottom at lower right side with the layer boundary below it) of this image.
Why such 'low res' images of unexplained characteristic items appearing to be interacting but overlying others?
Second guessing a delayed release, or technical failure?

Is there an explaination for the chemistry of these layers and spheroid contents?

What are you finding in new views and releases of instrument observations?

What active environment can cause the upper right corner shadow to solid surface interaction of the elevated item obviously directly radiatively related to the surface details?
We have similar effects on Earth globally in the continental/oceanic current sufaces being a direct line of sight from a fixed series of points in outer space, where all land masses are related at opposing polar and other co-ordinates from the several points of reference.

Actions of short term effects, or items of former contactual relationship, or a power with a fixed reference point?

A differing recent environmental cause?

A gradual cause with action in this or another local atmosphere?

Missing explanations and missing images.

This site has the images as soon as they are received

http://qt.exploratorium.edu/mars/opportunity/

Although, they are not sorted by sol, but simply the day they were transmitted, so each folder contains all the images transmitted on a particular date.
