Folks...

In this Curiosity image see the following:
1. the small white spotted rock under the ledge-fossils?
2. that black streak in the middle of the rock at right-volcanism debris some 500 million years ago?
3. what could have snapped that chuck of rock off its parent rock-looks recent for there is no red dust on its exposed face?

Any geo's around?

3) The sonic boom of the lander coming in?

Loudest noise in that neighborhood for a billion years, I imagine.

You can see that it was probably already cracked as the dust-print is present at the right of the broken surface.

I wonder........
1(*) rate of dust-print growth.
2*) angular velocity or pressure on impact
3) the foremost point is the end of a triangle
4.shadow enforces drift angle

I think this cracked stone could be a result from temperature changes as well.

The white "artifical features" observed in many occasions around is for sure from the lander, yes that is for sure the official explanation of all this, as this landscape officially contains only dull Martian rock with the correct "Martian" color. I don't think so.

I'm wondering about how big is the distance from the lander this white "lander debris" can be spread around?

I think the freeze-thaw cycle has a lot to do with it. Looks like a lot of ice wedges about this part of Mars.

I believe it has been established that temperatures have risen above freezing during the daylight hours only to drop drastically at night.

folks>>>

I tend to agree that there is freeze thaw action all over Mars...we saw it years ago with Oppy and Spirit. However, I was considering a rock tumble that would have cracked this piece off the mother stone, but since I see no tumbling trail in the lower sand elevation we can put that idea to bed.

This is a riverbed alright, you can see it in these overhanging rocks that were at the top or edge of a flowing river and the sandy residue has now replaced that water, albeit many millions of years ago. Look at all the images from Curiosity and you can spot these overhangs easily. The rocks are carved out underneath just like Earth rocks in a riverbed. Fish hide there!!!!!

Wildcat wrote the above,,,by the way wildcat oilfield drilling is what my life has consisted of,,,,not saying I didn't have other pursuits,,,what man don't??

A good place for a Habitat?
What think You?
Any of you.

Of course underground would be preferred I am shure.
Lava Tubes? Do they exist as we imagine them?

I would think that if they did not then they could be made to exist with current tunnel boring Made on Earth,,for Earth gravity.
Turn this loose on Mars with one third gravity.Follow with swimming pool wall sprayers,,again Made on Earth for Earth gravity.Spray a wall that will keep breathable air.Hell,,rig the ISS for Tow/Push to Mars, stoppin first at Luna?,,think/dream Bigger,Further,
Black Holes have never been explored,,,send a probe for crying out loud,,,,of course the first hundred would/might be destroyed,,,,any data is better than no data,,,,try to get this done while Hawking is still alive.Don't for a minute think that you are different,,,,many, many of us feel the same in these matters.
We are allotted n of years. How we use them is our business only. How we share them can be made other peoples business also.

People postulate of worm holes being points of entry to parallel universes.
Is this an Urban Myth?
How can we deny it if we cant prove it false?
Fifteen years old and up should be programing in at least two if not more computer languages.
It is not enough have information to it,
hands on experience is required.Yep,git yore hands dirty.Master high voltage it is nothing if handled correctly.
Understand electromagnetism....learn about gravitational electromagnetism .
A Black Hole Event Horizon is nothing more than a timestamp for change, observation or probe entry.DATA we need data.if anything saved to first probe then follow up on next-in-line-probe,,,improve,speed-up,slow-down.....more/less force,,,finally above all ,,,Sensors and sensors redundant all timestamped sensors plus.
If we get data from inside a Black Hole then
we have made a giant leap for Mankind.Next will come vision then communication.
Think totally Realistic.
In other words,,no Fantasy allowed.
Data,,,,,from inside.....a Black Hole....
WHEN??????????????if ever?
Do it.
And do it soon.
If we are meant to explore then we must find a way to do so.
If travel thru space is possible thru wormhole, then think of the implications.
For one thing we could immediately expand the search for our water/carbon world,
look-a-likes.
