Well... this was expected so it shouldn't come out as a surprise. Spirit will continue functioning as a stationary platform.

Regretfully the MI camera may never be as accurate as it was- we could look for micro-crystals all around it with time for a variety of angled images for targets. A ten times magnification, multiplied by the viewers screen size enlargement factor, items nearly not visible to the direct view become easy to recognize and catalog. Hopefully this can happen to future robotic rovers which are at least partly powered by solar panels.
Time for Photosynth panorama work perhaps?
Possibly just time studies of the general environment and alterations.

I am interested to know if Mars has a liquid core so here is a chance to look at that but before hand Spirit needs to tilt more toward the North. Troy is a very interesting place, it could have been worse i.e. just fade away on a vast plane.

Crazy really, now we need the front wheels to dig in and the back to rise up to get the right aspect for the panels to get some winter Sun. If there are any Martian Gods reading this can we have a cleaning event as well please? Thank you.

copy from Space and Me the Scott Maxwell blog, thouhgt it might be a little funny

But Steve Squyres is a big kid, too. On his way past he picks up a pair of the 3-D goggles and peers through them at the heat shield. "Gosh, what a weird-looking thing!" he exclaims. "A crashed spaceship on another planet!"

"Shame it's ours," I say.

He laughs. "Now that's a circumstance under which I'd be willing to use the APXS on it. APXS, MB, everything!"
