It is spam.. lots and lots of spam.. and its coming through on the newsfeeds even though I delete them on my end, they come through Again, double-spamming me because no one is moderating them on this end. Very sad, good software can prevent this with captcha's, email registration and permission control.

Hotmail, Google etc were all hacked over the last week with advice from those providers to change your password on your account. |

No, they WEREN'T hacked, Kevin. The login info was gained via phishing.
All the compromised accounts have been locked. So if you're not the type of chump to fall for phishing scams, and have access to your account, then there's no need to change anything. |

Touchy Rinec, I guess your strong defence of the providers suggests you work with one of them, don't worry about the bad press people can't live without them even if their Credit Card and Bank details are cloned.
Phishing should be made illegal. |

Touchy?! You're the one sounding touchy!
I'm just stating the facts, so that people are correctly informed and take the appropriate action. I've never worked for any of the parties involved, and I wouldn't exactly call two sentences a 'strong defense'!!!!! |

Well if we are going to save the World from Cyber attack let's get the right information out there, apologies for stating Hacking instead of Phishing all the same to me i.e. invading my privacy. A day ago it was still increasing so not sure about accounts being locked.

Captcha function would be a real good idea - works on my forum for sure but need "hard" setting. |

Hacking = problem with the site
Phishing = problem with the people using the site
The distinction is important if you want to effect a solution.
And, continuing the pedantic theme, I think it was Korean, not Chinese.

Well it is a completely unmoderated blog. Although surely there should be a limit and it wouldn't be difficult to exclude this rubbish.

The whole site has been compromised including the banners down the right hand side. I suggest that the creator of the site make some password changes so that the integrity of the site is maintained. |
