Horton's photo CD

I just got Horton's 3 CDs with his Mars rover images. My DVD player can play them through the TV. So it was lay back, have a beer or two and enjoy the show!

The CDs had about 600 images from Opportunity and 400 from Spirit, some great earth bound nature photos and the stphmkre stereo maker program. That's a lot of pictures and it took me 2 hours to play the slide show on the DVD player.

Most people on this forum have probably seen Horton's great work at one point or another. I personally wasn't able to consistently follow the forum during the summer and early fall, so I was amazed at some of the images I hadn't seen before, including quite a few colour pictures. My favourites were the stereo microscope imager photos, particularly the ones of Pot of Gold. Horton was also able to generate colour MI images, which I didn't think was possible. There are lots of stereo (plus or minus colour) photos and of this batch, my faves were those of the hedges, mud cracks and all those odd shaped rocks at the foot of West Spur. There are quite a few cool panoramas that I think are exclusive to Horton, especially the ones near West Spur. The panoramas are the one thing I wish there was a lot more of.

All in all a pretty cool collection.

Way to go Horton!
